HEAT Head Coach Pat Riley

On the game:
"You know, playing hard just isn't enough, we got to play well, we have to take care of the ball. We had 10 turnovers in the second half, it was a good effort but it just wasn't enough. Our guys played real hard."

On the Shaquille O’Neal trade:
"It was a significant move that we felt we had to make based on where we are right now, what our record is. A lot of thought went into it but I think our players were stunned by it a little bit but they played hard tonight."

On the effort of his team:
"The last two or three games we've been way below what a good effort should be but for 18 or 19 or 20 games all it was, was effort, not enough skill, not enough shots made and not enough of almost anything. "

HEAT Guard Ricky Davis

On the game:
"We played good, you know as long as guys play together I think it doesn't really matter who you have on the floor. Detroit's a nice team and they know what it takes to win ballgames in the clutch. We just have to go out and play and, like I said, it doesn't really matter what guys are on the floor, we just have to go out and play hard basketball and have fun."

On Shaquille O' Neal:
"You always can expect something going on in the NBA; you never know what's going to happen. I don't worry about any changes, I just go out and play ball, and do what I got to do."

On cutting it close going into the fourth quarter:
"We made a comeback. That little run by Chauncey and Rasheed kind of put it over the edge and we were kind of playing catch-up from there."

On Rasheed being the X-factor:
"He definitely was (the x-factor) and you know he played great on the block. That's what’s good about Detroit they got so many weapons."

Pistons Head Coach Flip Saunders

On the Game:
"More adventurous, not unexpected. They've had a couple games where they've been blown out lately but they've had a lot of games where they just hung in there. As I told our guys before the game, I said ‘they got guys, you know Ricky Davis has scored 40 and been a 20-point scorer, and (Mark) Blount can score. If you give those guys opportunities they'll knock down shots and what happened is they knocked down shots tonight. (Dorell) Wright was knocking down shots, Davis was 4-for-5 or 5-for-6 from the 3, and Dwyane puts a lot of pressure on our defense. But I thought that we just couldn't get our energy going, just couldn't sustain it. I thought we did some things at times, defensively we were a little undisciplined at times and they took advantage of it. (Rasheed Wallace) Sheed was good again and I thought (Antonio McDyess) Dyess was outstanding as far as his energy the whole game."

Pistons Forward Tayshaun Prince

On the game:
Typical situation of what we do when we play against a team that is under .500, we get off to a slow start. That was the case and that was why we were in a dogfight. We made plays down the stretch that we needed to. We had a spell there where we missed some free throws in the fourth (quarter) that got them back into the ball game. We were up 11 at the end of the third and came out slow. They made plays and Dwyane Wade shot the ball well tonight. We made important plays down the stretch."

On his shot in the fourth with time expiring that gave the Pistons a five point lead:
"I knew the shot clock was low. I just made one move to get the defender off me and take the shot. With the time that was left I could have gotten to the basket or somewhere in the paint to take a shot. Once I got a little space that was the shot I decided to take."

On Rasheed Wallace's play:
"It was huge. He was just making plays at the rim and getting to the foul line. He was just aggressive. You know that when he shoots that many free throws in a game we know that he's very aggressive. He's playing well for us. Obviously if he didn't play well for us we wouldn't have won this game."

Pistons Guard Chauncey Billups

On the game:
They are missing a lot of guys right now but even with environment that they are in, when they come into this building they have to play extremely hard to even have a chance and they did just that. They got off to a good start and we let our guard down a little bit and they made it a game. We underestimated them a little bit and that is our fault. It’s something that we got to do a better job of.”

On Rasheed Wallace:
“He is playing great. He’s carrying us. He’s getting down low for u, he’s creating double teams and getting everyone else some easy shots. He’s playing great defense, he’s being Rasheed.”
