HEAT Head Coach Pat Riley
On tonight’s game
“Mo Williams and Dwyane Wade pretty much canceled each other out and they had a little bit more balance than we did. We just had a series of problems throughout the game that they had a lot to do with. We missed some great opportunities and just couldn’t get it going at the end. I thought the best chance we had was with Wade in transition when we could have cut it one.”
On the play of Mo Williams:
“He’s played well against us and he’s just a very consistent player. Across the board his numbers are about where they were last year and he has the ability to take it to another level. He’s not a selfish player. Tonight he had a big game and a hot hand and kept going for it.”
HEAT Guard Dwyane Wade
On the play of Mo Williams:
”He shot the ball well and hit big shots. That one three was real big. That’s the kind of player Mo (Williams) is. He tries to be patient for a while and then get his game going. He led them to victory.”
On the Bucks playing well tonight without Michael Redd:
“Michael Redd is a great player but they have the right players for the offense that they run. I think now they are a better post team because they are going inside to Yi and Bogut a little bit more. They also have the shooters on the perimeter and right now they are playing with confidence.”
On the staying positive during the losing streak:
“It’s frustrating but we are not in here pointing fingers at each other or anything like that. We just want to find a way to get out of it. The only way to do that is for the team to keep performing together and doing things as a team.”
Bucks
Head Coach Larry Krystkowiak
On the Game:
“We got off to a good start. It felt really good, the game was flowing and we were making shots and executing real well. I think we kind of witnessed the D(wyane) Wade show to end the first half and we didn’t really have an answer. We went small to match up with them on the perimeter. They ran some interesting little plays against our zone and set some pick-and-rolls. We had some people in positions that they weren’t accustomed to being in.”
On Mo Williams playing all 48 minutes:
“Mo can rest tomorrow. I really liked what he was doing on the floor on both sides of the ball. Certainly scoring 35 points, he made some big plays for us. He’s been a warrior with some of the injuries we’ve had. He’s found himself on the floor probably more. It’s a situation where we’ll have an optional day for him tomorrow and he can charge up and we’ll head out west and he should be ready to go for the next couple.”
On Bobby Simmons’ effort tonight
“Bobby’s really kind of a calming influence on the floor. He had a couple of turnovers to make it a little shaky, but he understands all the schemes on both sides of the ball. He seems to be in the right spot and he hit some big shots.”
Bucks Guard Charlie Bell
On the team coming closer together:
“We’ve got to go out there and continue to work and get better. These wins are wins, but at the same time we know we’ve got a tough road trip coming up and we just have to look towards the future.”
Bucks Guard Mo Williams
On playing against the Heat after they tried to sign him in the summer:
“I try to play well every night, some nights you just don’t have it and some nights you have it. Most importantly, we got the win. Three in a row feels good.”
On tonight’s game:
“They’re hungry. You saw a lot of hustle plays, but we’re hungry, too. We went on runs and they went on runs. We closed it out and made our free throws and stopped them down the stretch.”
