HEAT Head Coach Pat Riley

On the game:
“We played extremely well in the fourth quarter with exception of the last several shots in the game and a couple free throws and maybe a couple of offensive rebounds. We made one big mistake in the last two minutes of the game. We must have the wrong players in the game. It’s the wrong mix or something in the fourth quarter. I think I have the right mix, but I must have the wrong mix. I have to keep mixing it up and see who I can depend on down the stretch.”

On bringing Jason Williams and Dwyane Wade off the bench:
“J-Will hasn’t played since before Christmas. He hasn’t even shot the ball. We need some support. He needed to come in and try hard. He’s off his game. Dwyane [Wade] actually wanted to come off the bench. He says in the beginning of the game he’s really stiff. He was getting treatment while he was sitting there [on the bench]. He did a bit better today on his feet. Again, it’s hard to keep mixing around. [Dwyane Wade] got really tired. Chris [Quinn] played well and the only time I took Dwyane out was when I saw him very tired defensively just to give him a couple minutes. I thought he played very well.”

On playing a small line-up:
“It did [hurt us], but it didn’t. You’ve got to match up to Rudy Gay and he’s long. The one free throw rebound I made a mistake, I should have gotten a big in there and called a timeout, but I didn’t think we had to play that game that much. Then, the next one they didn’t even get matched up correctly. I take responsibility for that.”

HEAT Forward Udonis Haslem

On the loss:
“I don’t know if it’s a mental thing, if it’s in our heads, or we don’t believe, but for whatever reason we just can’t get it done. I think in the second half Rudy Gay and Mike Miller really got going. We allowed some dribble penetration. It’s a lot of different things. It’s hard to point the finger at one specific thing. In the first half, we took away everything. We closed out the perimeter. I think in the second quarter they didn’t even get any second chance points or rebounds. We took away a lot of stuff in the first half. We gave away a lot in the in the second half that gave this game away.”

HEAT Guard Ricky Davis

On the game:
“We just can’t finish. He couldn’t get it started. We got good looks but they just couldn’t fall for us. It’s hard when it happens over and over again. Something has got to change.”

HEAT Guard Chris Quinn

On the loss:
“I was hoping we would get the momentum and finish it out, but it wasn’t able to happen.”

On stepping in for injured teammates:
“It feels good. I just play at the same time. But, it’s no fun when you’re losing no matter how well you’re doing individually.”

Grizzlies Head Coach Marc Iavaroni

On tonight’s win:
“I liked the way the “big three” stepped up and made plays. They played good defense on Dwyane Wade down the stretch. I’m beginning to get very comfortable with the starting unit. (Darko) Milicic is proving to be a very solid defender, and I think people are starting to notice that.”

On Mike Conley running the point:
“(Mike) Conley has shown he is the glue. He is learning on the fly, but the team seems to feel comfortable with him. I really came in with few expectations, but I think he’s (Conley) ready to be good and we just have to be patient with him and our team. I think we’re going to be good. I can’t put my finger on it. I don’t want to say Damon (Stoudamire) and Kyle (Lowry) weren’t doing a good job. But right now, it’s good just good chemistry.

Grizzlies Guard Mike Miller

On Mike Conley:
“He is a good point guard. You have a player who is capable of doing a lot of things and he knows how to run the team for a young guy, the sky is the limit for him. He is quick and he gets in the lane. He makes good decisions. He is a pretty good basketball player and people are starting to see that now.”

On Defense:
“If we want to win games you have to have stops down the stretch. Dwyane is a great basketball player and Ricky Davis had it going on and we have to make shots down the stretch and we did that.”

Grizzlies Guard Rudy Gay

On being the go-to guy:
“There are a lot of different ways to try and get my shot up, I can naturally do that. I just want to get my teammates involved and that’s what I am going to try and do.”

Grizzlies Guard Mike Conley

On tonight’s game:
“It was a great atmosphere, especially being the first time playing in front of the home crowd in the regular season. It was a big night for me. I thought we came out and played well and put on a good show.” “I tried to step up and do whatever my team needed me to and at that time I was put in the right position at the right time to drive to the basket to try to make some plays. Coach told me to be aggressive and I tried to do that.”
