HEAT Forward Antoine Walker

On the game:
“We stopped being aggressive and stopped doing what we did to get the lead. We became more of a half court team and that is the pace that they want to play in. They want to play in that half court pace where they have control of the game. Once they got the score tied they started free shooting, driving and kicking. They got their game going in the fourth quarter.”

“It’s not going to be impossible. Obviously our backs are against the wall. We just have to take it one game at a time.”

“They killed us on the glass. They’re a jump shooting team, so you’re not going to be in the ideal and perfect block out position every time they shoot the ball.”

HEAT Center Shaquille O'Neal

On the game:
“Our backs are definitely against the wall, but we can’t stop now. We just have to keep going, one game at a time. We just made too many mistakes today. We didn’t really play well on defense. We can’t let their big three get big numbers. We have to find a way to stop people.”

“We didn’t shoot a good percentage from the line. We should have made those, most of those anyway. There are a lot of things we didn’t do well tonight.”

On losing the fourth quarter lead:
“We just didn’t play good one-on-one defense.”

HEAT Guard Dwyane Wade

On Sunday’s game:
“We still have a game to play. They still have to close us out. We have to come in and play the game.”

“Tonight we did a good job defensively on guys but then we over helped at the last second. This is a great drive and kick team. Guys like (Luol) Deng and (Andres) Nocioni were sitting out there waiting for jump shots.

On the lead change:
“They made shots and had opportunities and we didn’t execute as well. We didn’t execute as well for a stretch. There were a couple turnovers, a couple missed shots and they came down and connected. Before you know it, they were up one. The game turned quickly. We had our chance. They played well, they stuck it out. They won a big game tonight.”

HEAT Center Alonzo Mourning

On losing the lead in the fourth quarter:
“You don’t expect to do that, but we did. The momentum just totally changed in the second half. Trying to carry that energy over in the first half into the second half, we weren’t very successful at it. Our defense is what fueled our offense. I think we have to get it into our minds that that is where we are going to find success with the team, putting that defensive pressure on them and playing better defense. If we don’t do that then they’re going to capitalized off it. They have some great shooters. The only way for us to contain them is to give more of a defensive effort. We showed that in the first half, but we need to sustain that for 48 minutes.”

HEAT Guard/Forward James Posey

On whether the HEAT will give up:
“No! We still have another game on Sunday. We just have to try and win that one on Sunday. We are going to come back and be ready tomorrow at practice. Sunday we are going to have to work a thousand times harder.”

On losing the lead in the fourth quarter:
“They made shots. We couldn’t get a stop at the time. They found a little rhythm at that point.”

Chicago Bulls Head Coach Scott Skiles

On the game:
“We made progress tonight. We had a lot of ugly moments that we were able to overcome. There was a point in the first half where they got real aggressive with us and attacked us off the dribble. Their double teams were strong and we were not strong with the ball. But we maintained contact and didn’t let them run away from us. In the third quarter they kicked it up a little bit, but we stayed close and we were able to make a run. Our defense got a lot better and we were able to get a win. Tonight was only one win and we have to win four instead of three. But in a game where we weren’t playing well and things weren’t going our way we were able to overcome it.”

On Ben Wallace:
“He was fantastic again. It is a tough duty down there. He is giving up a lot of inches and pounds and he was fantastic.”

On guarding Dwyane Wade:
“I thought Kirk [Hinrich] was good on him. We tried to make him play in a crowd. We were able to get some help there. When we did foul him, we were lucky enough that he missed a couple of free throws. I thought Kirk [Hinrich] did a very nice job on him.”

On guarding Dwyane Wade:
“He had early foul trouble and had to sit for a while. But he played well tonight and hit some big shots. He made jumpers and handled the ball well.”

Bulls Center Chris Duhon

On the game:
“They were doing some things to counteract our pick-and-rolls. They were being more aggressive with our pick-and-rolls and for some reason we stopped moving the ball. We started dribbling way too much and forcing up shots. After that timeout we just calmed down, relaxed and said that we should start moving the ball. That’s what we did and we picked the energy level back up.”

On Ben Gordon’s game:
“They know that Ben [Gordon], at some point, is going to go off and do his thing. The big thing for us is not to get too crazy and start forcing up shots. We stayed in the game, we kept it close, kept it in reach, and then when we took the lead we were able to extend it and hold on to it.”

On trying to close out the series on Sunday:
“That’s our goal. That’s what we want to do. You want to win every game. We put our selves in a great position, but at the same time we understand it’s not over yet and in order for it to be over we are going to have to come out and play with the energy we played with tonight.”

On beating the Miami HEAT on their home floor:
“They gave us a pretty good shot tonight. That was one of the things we were concerned with before the game; when that shot happen, how we would respond. I think we responded well to it.

Bulls Forward P.J. Brown

On the game:
“I thought they came out with a lot of energy and they played really hard. We knew that coming in that this was a desperation game for them. They came out hard but a characteristic of our team is to never give up, keep playing hard, and never get too down.”

On what he would say to the younger players about closing out the series Sunday:
“I don’t know if I would have to say much. Tonight, myself and the rest included didn’t have to say too much. Everyone knew we had to come in here and we had a golden opportunity to take care of our business and get a good win tonight and we did that.”

“It’s very tough. It’s the hardest game of the series. An elimination game is the hardest game to win but I have confidence in our team that, no matter what, we are going to come out here and play hard and give ourselves a chance to win Sunday.”

On what winning tonight’s game says about the Chicago Bulls:
“I think it just shows how cohesive we are and how close we are. We really go out there and play hard. We are always talking and communicating.”

Bull's Guard Kirk Hinrich

On the game:
“We came in and was focused. We try to come in here and take it one game at a time. We focused on this game tonight and it wasn’t easy at all to get a win tonight but we are thrilled that we did. We realize that we still have one more to go.”

On how they kept their composer during the Miami HEAT’s run in the second quarter:
“We kept fighting. Things weren’t going our way for a little while. We just stayed with it.”

On if the Chicago Bulls could have won this game two years ago:
“Probably not. We still got a little helter-skelter out their at times but when we kept our composure we were pretty good.”

Bulls Forward/Guard Luol Deng

On the game:
“To come here and beat the champs on the road says a lot about how we are maturing as a team. We are up two but we know we couldn’t come here and relax because we know how good of a team they are. Now that we are up three we still have to bring it.”

“Our small line is great for us, we have been doing that all year. When we go small we have versatile players that can play different positions and it just speeds up the game for us.”

Bulls Guard Ben Gordon

On being up 3 - 0:
“We played extremely hard to win that game. Naturally the guys are going to be a little more excited. This team (Miami HEAT) is a team that could win four games in a row. So it’s not over. We just have to stay composed and play really really hard.”

On his first half fouls:
“It was really frustrating. Picked up two quick one, so I had to sit most of the first half. I just tried to watch how they (Miami HEAT) were playing guys in the game and try to relax. In the second half I tried to play aggressively and take my shots in rhythm.

“Once I came back in the second quarter I had some careless turnovers. First half definitely felt like it wasn’t going to be my night. I just tried to keep my composure and I knew that my team would need me in the second half.”
