HEAT Head Coach Pat Riley

On the Game:
"I thought we bounced back with a real good defensive game. It was obvious that we were a lot more active. We sustained it. They didn't get a lot of layups, which we had been giving up over the last 10 games. The jumpers they did get, I thought were a little bit out of rhythm, not in their offense, and we contested a lot of them. It was nice to see us defend and rebound."

"It is nice when guys respond to the beck and call (defensive energy), the coaching beg. They (Posey and Haslem) are our two energy guys defensively. James, I think, has been playing extremely well ever since we started him. He is coming every night and giving what we need every single night, and Udonis always does, too. And tonight he was making his jumper and scoring on some cuts."

"We were just more active and rebounded the ball better. The activity, the deflections, the steals in the first half and especially the first quarter, we were coming earlier on the help on pick-and-rolls. I think for the most part we played well offensively, too."

"I don't think our spacing was as good as it should be, and the cutters have to recognize when they have to go depending on how someone double-teams the ball. They were double-teaming on the pass a lot of the time, so as the ball was in flight you have to make your cut. You have to make that adjustment immediately and clear out the weak side."

HEAT Forward Udonis Haslem

On the game:
"I think Posey and I have the same attitude. We try to do all the little things. We took it personally when Coach spoke of the team's lack of energy. We came out and tried to give energy -- not in the second half, but come out early. Lately, when we've been picking it up, we're picking it up too late. We just wanted to start off the game strong and fast."

HEAT Guard/Forward James Posey

On the game:
"Our energy has to start on the defensive end for the most part. We needed to limit them to one shot and then take advantage of the numbers. We had some success pushing the ball and then we were able to make the easy pass and the easy play."

HEAT Center Alonzo Mourning

On the Game:
"It's a great accomplishment (becoming the Heat's all-time leading scorer) considering the longevity of the franchise. You're looking at 19 years, and Glen Rice has carried that torch for a very long time. Records are made to be broken, and it will be an honor to carry this torch until someone else comes along to break it. But it's a great feeling considering all I've had to go through as a player. To break a prestigious record such as this one is truly an honor."

Minnesota Timberwolves Head Coach Randy Wittman

On the Game:
"At the start of the game, the energy was not there. We can't come out lackadaisical at the start of the games and get yourself down by 17 in the first quarter... We found guys off the bench. I think Marko gave us great energy. Rashad, Craig, Randy -- they gave us great energy coming in and got us back in. I forget at what point in the game it was a six-point game and we had four possessions: two wide-open 'threes' and two in-the-paint shots that didn't go. It would've then been a four- or three-point game."

"We didn't shoot very well, like you have to against this team. This is a team that if you don't move the ball, like we didn't in the first quarter... Everything was an exhaustion with whoever caught it. I am going to exhaust my play first. They are the best in the league in taking away your first option and the strong side. If you don't get the ball moved to the weak side, you are going to struggle like we did. Then they finally realized that if they take this away, I've got to swing this ball to the weak side. We had great looks, I thought. I don't know. We shot 18 'threes'. We had at least 12 of those wide-open. We did not make shots, which hurt us a little bit."

"I hope (that fatigue wasn't a factor). No, I don't think so. I just think we shot the ball bad. I think our defense was active. We made it as difficult as you can on Shaq. You are going to give up some 'threes'. They made seven of them, but they took 27, too. That's kind of what we wanted out of this game. We wanted them to come as a three-point shooting team, rather than Shaq in the paint."

"Again, that (run of fast-break baskets) was at the start of the game. That was just effort, that's all it is. It wasn't a turnover. I think all four of them were missed shots. When you turn it over, sometimes that happens, someone breaks out ahead. But these were missed shots and just effort of running back. So to go back and answer the first question, our effort at the start was low. After that I thought we did better, I really did."

Timberwolves Guard Rashad McCants

On the game:
"They are definitely a packed-in defense. I think with Kevin we are able to stretch them out a little bit and get into the lanes and make those guys foul a little bit. I think in the long run we just can't dig ourselves a hole in the first quarter."

"They space the floor extremely well, better than anyone in the league. They have guys that can shoot the ball around and a guy like Shaq... It's really hard to rotate. I think our scheme was on point tonight and we limited Shaq's touches, field goals. I just think we need to get the shooters contested more and we'll be in a better position."

Timberwolves Forward Craig Smith

On the game:
"That play (end of the third quarter) hurt us. I think if we were a little more aggressive, we knew there were eight seconds left on the clock and if we wouldn't have let them get that shot off, things might have ended differently. They may not have hit the two 'threes' and instead they might've hit just one. That kind of put us down a little bit. We continued to fight but we just couldn't break through it. We just kept missing shots."

Timberwolves Guard Randy Foye

On the game:
"That's what makes their team so unique. If you take away Shaq, then guys like Jones, Posey and Williams knock down big shots. It's kind of hard if you take away the big piece, then all the other little pieces are going to make big plays. It's tough sometimes, but he's going to get the ball more than them so we have to take the ball away from him first and make them make shots -- and they made shots."

"The main thing is just to help my teammates out. You know if Shaq gets the ball down there one-on-one against anyone in the world he is going to score, even if it's Yao Ming. So you just try to go out there and make him make tough decisions. He turned the ball over a couple of times tonight and we were able to get some easy points. The main thing is just to get it out of his hands."

"That's not even a fast break. That's basically us missing a shot and they grab the rebound while we're walking up, and they just come out of nowhere and they pass to them... So that just describes everything."

Timberwolves Forward Kevin Garnett

On the game:
"We fought our way back. We're always trying to find ways to get back into the game, and the deficit was so deep that we couldn't recover from that. Every time we'd make a run, they'd make a run -- someone has to stop somebody, and the deficit was just too much. Just too big of a deficit on a good team like this."

"They're pretty good. Rotating-wise they know their assignments. And you have to move the ball from strong side to weak side -- you can't hold it. When you move the ball and pick your role and you're aggressive, you can get what you want on these guys, but you can't give them layups -- it just fuels the confidence. And we did that... I think they had about eight consecutive points from layups. You can't give them that -- they're too good of a team."

"There is a flow, but I have to flow with whoever is out there. It is a nice flow and I think Randy doesn't want to put those guys into the different predicaments, awkward situations, but he did it before and it was successful and put us back in the game. It's more of an energy group on the ball, that tends to move it a little more. But again, that's just one of the many lineups."

"You're going to miss shots -- that's part of the game. But the fact that they (rookies) are aggressive and they do put a lot of heart and confidence is good. The more they play and the more they obtain knowledge about the game and get used to different situations, they'll get better. But the energy is there -- you see the effort and you see the confidence."
