January 30, 2007 | AmericanAirlines Arena | Miami HEAT - 110 | Milwaukee Bucks- 80

HEAT Head Coach Ron Rothstein

On the game:
“I felt we defended hard from the beginning of the game. I felt we were much more consistent with our defensive effort. I felt we had really good ball movement in the first half. We had 29 assists for the game; 17 in the first half. When you are making that kind of effort and everyone is playing together, quite often you make the game significantly easier.”

“I think we caught them at the right time. They were banged up. They are missing Michael Redd. Their confidence is probably a little low, just like ours had been. That is what losing will do to you. We were able to jump out real hard and sustain it.”

On taking the ball to the basket:
“I never said to the team, ‘Take it to them.’ I said, ‘Share the ball and move the ball.’” When you don’t do that, you end up settling.”

On what Dwyane Wade adds to the team:
“He is an All-Star. He may be the best player in the game. He adds everything we need all the time.”

HEAT Guard Chris Quinn

On the Game:
“We played well as a team tonight. We were moving the ball well.”

On what Dwyane Wade means to the team:
“He means a whole lot to the team. You saw some of the things he was doing tonight and he does those things on an everyday basis. He’s a great player. The sky is the limit for Dwyane Wade. He’s very team-oriented and you can see that from how many assists he has every game.”

HEAT Guard James Posey

On the Game:
“With what we’ve been through in the past couple of games, we just wanted to start with this win and try to build on it. If we can just do it every game on a consistent basis. Hopefully when we sit back and watch the film, we’ll see what we did right and correct some of the things we did wrong.”

HEAT Center Michael Doleac

On the Game:
“It was a great game for us. It was one we really needed after that road trip. Things were kind of taking a slide, so we needed to come out and put together a good effort more than anything. We did that and played well defensively. I think everyone was real active in our rotation.”

HEAT Guard Dwyane Wade

On his 16-point first quarter:
“I was just trying to be really aggressive. Like I said before the game, we needed to come out and establish ourselves early. We came out and played well, especially in transition. We made the right plays and got a big lead.”

On his assists during the game:
“They weren’t bad. I talked to the coach. We’re really trying to spread the wealth around here. We’re trying to get everyone involved. That was the main focus coming into tonight.”

On the next game against Cleveland:
“Cleveland is one of the better teams in the East. It’s going to be a challenge. It’s going to be one of those games you look forward to playing.”

Milwaukee Head Coach Terry Stotts

On the Game:
“That was our worst defensive half this year. We gave up 40 points in the paint. Dwyane (Wade) had about six dunks in the first half. Obviously you give Miami credit, they played well but we didn’t defend the way we needed to defend. There was a host of problems on defense. I thought we were a step late on everything. Some of it was poor communication; some of it was lack of alertness. It was just a lack of a lot of things. I know Miami is a hungry team. Dwyane, Gary (Payton), Alonzo (Mourning), those guys know how important these games are. Miami and Milwaukee are both in the same positions and Miami took charge early. There was no question they were the better team. I don’t think the game a month ago mattered as much as they were just thinking ahead. It is more disappointing than anything that we came out as flat as we did. The first five minutes was fine but then they put it on us pretty quickly and we didn’t recover.”

Bucks Center Andrew Bogut

On the Buck’s performance:
“In our system something needs to change. The same thing happened last year and, personally, I don’t think much has changed. I’m just looking at the bigger picture.”

On the game:
“They had all layups, dunks and they had straight lines to the basket all game long. Their guys were penetrating and when you have (Alonzo Mourning) over there as well, I can’t come over and help as much because he’s such a big body.”

On whether the HEAT remembered the game in Milwaukee on December 20, 2006:
“Definitely. I was thinking that on the bench. They showed us that they are NBA Champions for a reason and they proved to us that that game was a fluke.”

Bucks Forward Ruben Patterson

On the game:
“The only thing we took pride in was shooting the ball. It’s crazy. It’s unbelievable. We weren’t like a professional team out there. We were like a high school team. That effort out there was terrible. We’re professionals. There is no way we should have gotten embarrassed like that. We’re professionals.”
