HEAT Head Coach Pat Riley

On the game:
“I think, obviously, that’s one of the better, more complete games that we have played in a long time. It seems like a month or two months ago we were getting a lot of balance and we talked about it, strived to do it and tonight we did get that balance. Dwyane [Wade] had a lot to do with that, he made the game easy for us and he kept playing that way as did Shaq [Shaquille O’Neal]. There are going to be nights where there is going to be some very heavy lifting on his part and there are nights where he is going to have to facilitate. I thought he did a great job of doing that. All of us reacted to his humongous games he has been playing and we all watch him do that. It’s hard when we see him getting tired doing it and tonight, during the course of the game, I said to him ‘It looks easy for you out there tonight. There will be some nights where there will be a lot of heavy lifting when we are going to need the crunch.’ There was no need for that tonight. It’s the first time that Shaquille, in a couple weeks, has been running to the rim and we got him early in transition and that’s what it was. We have to get back to that game. I was talking about it yesterday that we have forgotten exactly who we are as a post-up, attacking team.”

On defending Michael Redd:
“I think we did a good job. Dwyane just got up into him early, we blitzed him on pick-and-rolls, and he just didn’t get a lot of good looks at the beginning; which was good for us because he has been on a roll for the last couple games. Every time you do that with that team there is somebody who steps up.”

On the New Jersey Nets:
“It’s in our hands. I’m not looking at numbers. I’m not looking at who they are playing. It’s in our hands. We have to win games. We aren’t going to have to say that we have to go six-and-two or five-and-three. They might win it out, so we have to stay one step ahead of the posse and 100 steps away from the street.”

HEAT Guard Shandon Anderson

On the game:
“This team (Milwaukee Bucks) has been playing great offensively. We watched the game on the road when they played Phoenix. We tried to get into their space and cut Michael Redd down a little bit.”

“One guy is always going to give you problems and he (Charlie Bell) was that guy in the first half. I think he was 6-of-7 from three and that’s what kept them in the first half. There were a couple of those that were missed assignments. We just had to stay with our defensive principals and you saw in the second half that he didn’t get those wide open jumpers. We just kept executing and making baskets.”

HEAT Forward Udonis Haslem

On the Florida Gators winning the national championship:
“I’m just so happy for Coach (Billy) Donovan and the coaching staff. They are the hardest working coaching staff in the country. Those kids played together. They probably played the best game I have ever seen that team play from an offensive and defensive standpoint.”

“Those were the best four years of my life. I’ll never forget them. I learned so much. I grew from a boy to a man. Everything I bring to the Miami HEAT, the hard work and dedication and all those things are things I picked up from Coach Donovan.”

On the game:
“We talked about getting more ball movement. I was glad to help my teammates out. They found me. I didn’t hesitate and I knocked them down.”

HEAT Center Shaquille O'Neal

On the game:
“When we play like this the outcome is usually good. We let a lot of games slip away. This is no time to worry; no time to panic We just have to keep playing like this. It’s simple. We have to take the high-percentage shots and we have to play defense. That’s usually when we get in trouble is because we don’t play defense and we come down and take those type of shots. Tonight we did what we were supposed to do.”

On his performance:
“Coach jumped on me the other day. He told me I was settling. I’m in great shape. They have done a great job making sure we stay in shape. This is the lightest I’ve been in about 10 years. Hopefully the guys will get it to me so I can run for them. If you feed a big dog then he’s active like that.”

HEAT Guard Dwyane Wade

On the game:
“You like to have wins like this going down the stretch, especially with the tough schedule we have right now. Getting a chance to rest in the fourth was pretty good. It was very big. It was great for us.”

On his intent to distribute the ball tonight:
“Coach and I had a long talk yesterday about a lot of different things. I know for this team to go to the next level, I have t continue to make plays for others. I know I can make plays for myself.”

On defending Michael Redd:
“We did a good job of knowing where he was at all times. We blitzed the pick and rolls and made him give it up. You don’t want him getting into a rhythm shooting the ball because he has one of the quickest shots in the game. When he shot we put a hand

Milwaukee Bucks Head Coach Terry Stotts

On the game:
“Obviously with a team like Miami, they came into this game needing a win. They lost two in a row. They came and competed. We can’t afford to get down, whatever we got down, 13-0. They set the tone and we didn’t react well to it. We battled back and cut it to seven. It takes a lot of energy. Charlie (Bell) and Tony (Kukoc) were great in the first half and we rode them. They (Miami HEAT) have their eyes on a championship. They set the tone early and went to Shaquille (O’Neal) often and played off of him and didn’t have to rely on (Dwyane) Wade having to score a lot. It looks like they made a concerted effort to get more people more involved and they certainly went to Shaquille as often as they could.”

“You don’t want any of your players getting in foul trouble in the first minute and a half, but Charlie (Bell) came in and played well and gave us a spark. That is part of the game, guys get in foul trouble and you have to make adjustments.”

On the bench outscoring the starters:
“It probably doesn’t happen very often. I don’t know if that has happened yet.”

On the second half:
“We scored some baskets in the beginning. We took forever to score in the first half. They’re a good team and good teams try to take care of business. If teams get a good lead at the half, they want to expand it early. They (Miami HEAT) did a good job at that.”

Bucks Center Jamaal Magloire

On the game:
“We didn’t make shots, and we turned the ball over a lot. They were the aggressor in the first quarter, and that set the tone for the game. We should have played a lot better than we showed. I think they played a good game tonight. I think we didn’t play with a sense of urgency.”

On a potential playoff match-up:
“There’s a potential for this match-up, but the teams are so jumbled up right now that we feel like we can move up.”

Bucks Guard Charlie Bell

On the game:
“They were trying to concentrate on Michael Redd, and they were leaving me open so I got a chance to knock down some threes, and I did.

“They came out playing aggressive and going inside, attacking the basket and we didn’t have an answer for it tonight. It was one of those nights when nothing goes right. Miami’s a veteran team. They called a time-out and got it back together. Most of all, we’re trying to get a better seed than the seventh seed. It was an eye opener for us. This is how it’s going to be in the playoffs. They’re going to try to take it to us, and we’re going to have to be ready. I think it was good for us to come out here and get beat like we did because each time we come back, we play a little harder. They’re a good team. They already had our attention. San Antonio, Miami, and Detroit are teams that are going to get your attention whether they beat you or not.”

Bucks Guard T.J. Ford

On the game:
“They came out, and Shaq was running the floor and getting in the paint, and that is tough to guard. We weren’t able to make shots. It felt like they were trying to come out and balance everybody on the team and not just [Dwyane] Wade. Everybody played well on their team. I think they’re definitely trying to get into a groove for the playoffs.”
