March 19th, 2006 | Madison Square Garden| Miami HEAT -111 | New York Knicks -100

HEAT Head Coach Pat Riley

On the Game:
"I thought we did what we had to do on a back-to-back. We controlled the game for the most part with the exception of the end of the second quarter."

On Alonzo Mourning:
"Alonzo (Mourning) had a huge impact on the game defensively rejecting eight shots and I think he probably changed seven or eight others. I think he gave us the defensive lift when we needed it. When you're casting your ballots for Defensive Player of the Year or All-Defensive Team there is no doubt. He's second in the league in blocks and he's only playing 16 or 18 minutes a game, he's really a factor for us and I thought he was the difference tonight."

On Dwyane Wade being compared to Magic Johnson:
"Dwyane (Wade) is more of a two-guard and should probably be compared to the other great one in some way because there are so many. Magic (Johnson) was a different player - a 6-8 point guard. He didn't have the package that Dwyane (Wade) has physically but Dwyane (Wade) doesn't have the package that Magic (Johnson) had as a point guard. You can't compare them; they are two different players. He will make his own place in this game and I think we see it day in and day out. We are very lucky to have him on our side."

HEAT Guard Dwyane Wade

On his game:
"I tried to bounce back. Every time I have a bad game I just put the effort forward to make plays and I did a decent job today. Whether I have a good game or a bad game, I always try to watch and see the things that I did well and the things that I did badly. I try to learn, always continuing to improve."

On the Knicks:
"The Knicks have a lot of good guards. No matter how good the defense is, the Knicks are going to make buckets."

On clinching a playoff spot:
"When you clinch a playoff spot it means you're having a good year. We still have a lot of games left, but we're happy about that. We still want the team to get better and to try to stay healthy as we go down the stretch into the playoffs."

New York Knicks Head Coach Larry Brown

On the Game:
"I thought our big guys did about as well as you could do. Jerome (James), Eddy (Curry), and David (Lee), all of them played hard. They executed greatly in the game. They did a lot good things. (Stephon) Marbury defended greatly. When he (Marbury) was on (Dwyane) Wade, he did about as good a job as you could on him. We had a hard time handling pick-and-rolls."

Knicks Guard Jamal Crawford

On the game:
“(Jason Williams) got hot and it made it difficult for us. We played hard and the effort was there but we’ve got to play smart.”

On the Heat:
“They’re scary. They’re deep. They’ve got Wade and Shaq of course but then you have people who know their roles.”

Knicks Guard Eddy Curry

On the Heat:
“They’re good but they’re a well rounded team. They have Shaq and he demands so much attention and you’ve got Wade, Payton and Posey playing their roles. “

On the Heat big-men:
“Shaq threw his body around on defense and on the next couple of plays, we’re missing lay-ups because of his presence down there. What Zo (Alonzo Mourning) does is he’s pretty much blocking shots and really being effective on the defensive end.”

Knicks Guard Stephon Marbury

On this game compared to last game vs. Heat:
“I think Shaq being in foul trouble helped us. That’s pretty much it because last time, he set the tone early.”

On the Heat:
“They know how to play and they play with a great deal of confidence. Whenever you go onto the basketball court with that kind of confidence, you never feel like your going to lose.”
