HEAT Head Coach Stan Van Gundy

On the game:
“That was a monumental struggle. I am sure it was a struggle to watch as well. We did not come out with a great focus. I did not think our energy was great. Our mental focus was ridiculous. We were a day late on everything. It was bad, but I will give our guys credit because they hung in there and then played pretty well in the third quarter to get the lead. From there on out, we were pretty solid until the very end. It was a good win from the fact that we played the way we did at the end. They [Golden State Warriors] had some guys with some really great nights. [Derek] Fisher and [Mike] Dunleavy played very well. I thought we had some good individual games. Eddie [Jones] was fabulous. Damon [Jones] played very well.”

“I thought they [Golden State Warriors] played extremely hard. They did a great job moving the ball. I think Mike [Montgomery] did a great job going small on us. He had them really well prepared for this game.”

On the play of Eddie Jones:
“He has been very good for the last two, two and a half months now. His points go up and down based upon the number of opportunities he gets. He has been a big reason that we have picked it up and have the record that we have. He has been very good. Obviously, tonight was one of his best nights.”

HEAT Center Shaquille O’Neal

On the game:
“It was a slow game. They came out with a little more energy then we did. It’s always hard to play a team like that. We picked it up a little bit. Flash (Dwyane Wade) had a slow game but he picked it up. He was getting bumped a lot tonight and really wasn’t getting the calls. We picked it up when we needed to. We need to dig deep down and conjure up some type of energy. It’s always harder to play the lesser teams. They always get more pumped up for us then we do for them. We need to find some way to match their energy.”

“All our guys played pretty good, especially in the fourth quarter.”

On Eddie Jones:
“He’s playing well, shooting the ball well and playing good defensively. I’m happy for Eddie.”

HEAT Guard Dwyane Wade

On the game:
“I just had a bad game. It happens and it’s going to happen again. We got the win and that’s all that matters.”

“We know we didn’t play out best, but we got the win. In this league you never begrudge a win and you move on.”

“Eddie played a great game. Udonis (Haslem) played a great game. That’s what it is all about. That’s why we are called the Miami HEAT because everyone on the team steps up. Keyon (Dooling) came in and did a great job. We’re a team and when guys are off, guys step up.”

HEAT Guard/Forward Eddie Jones

On the game:
“We did not come out like we wanted to come out. We came out very slow. It was like we were a half step too late. We were playing defense, but they kept getting lay-up after lay-up. But we kept fighting through it. I think that is the sign of a good team, one that continues to fight through it and come out victorious. I think you will have a night like this every now and then. As long as you continue to fight through it, that is all that really matters. We turned the ball over too many times. We gave them too many easy opportunities in the first half. I knew I was guarding Jason Richardson. I knew that he was going to come at me on the offensive end, but I wanted him to think about me on he defensive end. I was going to drive and hopefully get him in foul trouble so he would be forced to the bench. I was attacking the rim and opening up the game.”

Golden State Warriors Head Coach Mike Montgomery

On the game:
“For us to be out-rebounded by 20 and have a chance to be in it late in the game was great. We had 25 assists and seven turnovers, which means we were really moving the ball. I thought that playing small like that was the best opportunity to win. Obviously, we don’t have a lot of choices because Cliff [Robinson] and Troy [Murphy] are both out. We did play big with Adonal [Foyle] and Dale [Davis] to match up with Shaq. We competed and gave ourselves a chance to win. There are some tough match-ups over there. We probably should have fouled Shaq when he made a couple lay-ups, rather than let him score late. I think that was a mental error on our part. That three-pointer by Rasual Butler was huge.”

On Dwyane Wade:
“We knew how good he was. I thought Derek Fisher had him and did a great job with him. When Shaq is in the game, there’s not as much room for him. Typically, when Shaq goes out, it becomes Wade’s time to run off the pick and rolls. We didn’t do anything specific, but Wade hurt us late with his penetration.”

Warriors Guard Derek Fisher

On the game:
“We had an opportunity to win the game. In some aspects, it is something to build on. It is still disappointing to come back in the locker room with a loss.

On the play of Dwyane Wade:
Dwyane [Wade] is a fabulous player. You need to make him work as hard as possible to get his touches. Sometimes, you have tough nights in this league. That is why it is a team game. They had Eddie Jones step up and make great contributions offensively tonight. There is no way to shut Dwyane Wade down completely.”

Warriors Guard/Forward Jason Richardson

On the game:
“They played really tough tonight. Derek [Fisher] did a good job on Dwyane [Wade]. We tried to get the ball moving and to get everyone involved in the offense. We played our best. We played a pretty tough game, we just could not beat them.”

Warriors Forward Mike Dunleavy

On the play of Shaquille O’Neal:
“He is obviously very hard to stop. You have to pick your poison with him. Tonight, he made some plays down the stretch and we could not overcome it.”

On the game:
“I don’t like to come into the locker room with a loss. Hopefully we can build on it. We are hoping to get a win on this road trip and head back home and keep playing this way. I was trying to be aggressive in the second half. I thought I could score the ball since I was playing the four. I am pretty comfortable in all positions. I think I have played every one this year. I can take advantage of a lot of mismatches at different positions.”
