-- The Knicks topped the Hawks 113-112 in a thrilling contest at Philips Arena on Sunday.
-- Trailing by one with under four seconds to play, the Hawks put the ball in Marvin Williams' hands ... The Hawks forward drove the lane and appeared to draw contact as time expired but the officials ruled the shot attempt came after the buzzer allowing New York to escape with the win.
-- Williams was outstanding, finishing with a season-high 29 points, 11 rebounds and 3 blocks ... Jeff Teague tallied 23 points and tied a career-best with 5 steals ... Joe Johnson added 22 points, Josh Smith 14 and Jannero Pargo 12.
-- Atlanta shot .632 and New York .583 (both clubs committed 6 TOs) ending a frantically paced first quarter deadlocked at 31.
-- The turnovers continued to pile up in the second, but so did the points, as the Hawks took a 65-60 lead to the locker room ... Each team committed 12 turnovers in the half, but Atlanta was able to convert the miscues into 23 points while the Knicks managed 13.
-- The Hawks shot .590 in the opening 24 minutes, including a sizzling 9-11 from three-point range (.818), while the Knicks hit .600 from the field.
-- A back-and-forth third quarter ended with New York regaining the lead (94-93), setting up the exciting final stanza.
-- Carmelo Anthony led the Knicks with 39 points and 10 rebounds ... Amar'e Stoudemire finished with 22 points and 12 boards, and Baron Davis added 13 points and 10 assists.
-- Atlanta finished the night shooting .539 from the field and hit 15-23 threes, while New York shot .544 and made 12-19 from downtown.
-- The Hawks are back in action on Tuesday vs. L.A. Clippers at Philips Arena (7:30pm on SportSouth HD and 98.9 FM).
