Guard is 2nd Leading Scorer in NBA Development League

ATLANTA, GA (March 27, 2006) -- The Atlanta Hawks today signed guard Anthony Grundy to a 10-day contract, according to Executive Vice President/General Manager Billy Knight. The 6-foot-3 guard has started 44 games this season for the Roanoke Dazzle of the NBA Development League.

Averaging 23.0 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 4.4 apg and 2.5 spg in 39.8 mpg, Grundy is among the D-League leaders in virtually every offensive category. He ranks first in the league in three-pointers made and attempted, field goals made and attempted, steals and minutes. Additionally, he places second in scoring and free throws made, and third in efficiency rating (20.55). Earlier today, Grundy was named to the 2005-06 All-NBA Development League First Team as voted on by the league's head coaches.

Grundy spent this year's training camp and preseason with the Hawks, before being waived on October 27. The North Carolina State product (2002) has also seen professional action in Israel, the World Basketball Association (where he was named Defensive Player of the Year) and the Continental Basketball Association.

He enjoyed a solid four-year career with the Wolfpack, finishing eighth in school history in scoring (1,641), second in steals (239), fifth in three-pointers made (164) and eighth in assists (356). He was the first player in school history to compile 1,500 points, 500 rebounds, 300 assists and 200 steals in a career. He was named Honorable Mention All-America by the Associated Press and First Team All-ACC as a senior.

Grundy will wear uniform No. 16 with the Hawks.
