Atlanta Hawks Sign Second Round Draft Pick Mike Scott

The Atlanta Hawks have signed rookie forward Mike Scott to a contract, according
to President of Basketball Operations/GM Danny Ferry.  Per team policy, terms of
the contract were not disclosed. Scott was selected by Atlanta in the second
round (43rd overall) of the 2012 NBA Draft. 

The 6’8
forward earned First Team All-ACC honors as a senior at Virginia after averaging
18.0 ppg, 8.3 rpg and 1.2 apg (.563 FG%, .808 FT%).  He ranks third in school
history in rebounds (944) and double-doubles (34), while finishing 16th
in points scored (1,538).

Scott was
born July 16, 1988 in Chesapeake, Virginia, and attended Deep Creek High School.
 He will wear number 32.

The Atlanta Hawks, a member of the National Basketball
Association since 1949, play in the Southeast Division, along with the Charlotte
