The Hawks currently hold a 36-42 record and are winners of six of their last eight games. Currently, Atlanta maintains a two-game lead over Indiana for the final Eastern Conference playoff spot.
On the heels of his March Eastern Conference Player of the Month honor, guard Joe Johnson was named the Eastern Conference’s Player of the Week for the week of March 31. In four games, Johnson averaged 25.3 points per game on .556 shooting, while also dishing out 8.3 assists.
The Atlanta Hawks have launched a new website – AL4ROY.com – where fans and media can keep up with all the latest highlights, interviews, photos and statistics of Rookie of the Year candidate Al Horford.
In Atlanta’s 127-120 overtime win against Toronto on April 2, the team set a Hawks franchise record for most points scored in an extra period with 20.
The Hawks will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the franchise’s only championship during the April 12 contest against Boston. Former St. Louis Hawk Bob Pettit, who scored 50 points in the title-clinching game (which occurred on April 12, 1958), will be honored at halftime.
