The NBA named guard Joe Johnson its Eastern Conference Player of the
Month for March. In 17 contests, Johnson averaged 24.9 points and 7
assists per game. |

Additionally, the league honored big man Al Horford as its Eastern
Conference Rookie of the Month for the second consecutive month and
third time overall this season. In March, Horford averaged 11.9 points
and 8.7 rebounds per game on 56.7 percent shooting, while also posting
six double-doubles. |

Forward Josh Smith has averaged 20.8 points per game in his last five
contests against Philadelphia, whom the Hawks will play twice this
weekend |
