Belkin is the founder and chairman of Trans National Group (TNG), a privately held direct response marketing and investment company headquartered in Boston. Founded in 1974, TNG now has more than 250 employees and has sales of more than $200 million annually. Belkin, who created the concept of the affinity credit card, has started more than 20 companies under the TNG umbrella, eight of which have been sold. Belkin has served on the board of trustees for Cornell University, the Boston Medical Center, the Sports Museum of New England and is on the board of directors for the Hoffman Institute. He has also been on the Harvard College Visiting Committee, as well as the Committee on University Resources. A native of Grand Rapids, Mich., he is a graduate of Cornell University and holds a master’s of business administration from Harvard University. He and his wife, Joan, have two daughters, Julie and Amy, and reside in Boston.
