Mayor Shirley Franklin and 2004 American Idol runner-up Diana DeGarmo will
help tipoff a new season of NBA basketball at the Atlanta Hawks “Restart” Pep
Rally on Monday, November 8, at Underground Atlanta (beginning at 4:30 pm). The
entire Atlanta Hawks team and coaching staff, along with Executive VP & General
Manager Billy Knight and VP-Basketball & Atlanta Spirit Investor Dominique
Wilkins, will join Mayor Franklin and DeGarmo on this special afternoon as a
warm-up for the club’s home opener on Tuesday, November 9 against LeBron James
and Cleveland Cavaliers (7:30 pm tipoff).
The festivities also include performances by the musical group Spare Change and
the Hawks Dance Team, mascots Harry the Hawk and SkyHawk, as well as inflatables
and games for the kids. V103 FM personality Magic Man is serving as emcee.
