Al Horford: “Excited man! Just glad, you know, that he got the chance."

"Larry’s different. He’s already reached out to us and let us know he’s going to change the offense a little bit and how he’s emphasizing the defensive part of things. … Even though Larry was a part of our team before, it’s a big change for us. Because when you have a head coach, you [the assistant] can’t get the last say. With him being in charge now, things are going to be different.”

Josh Smith: "I'm real excited. I know the team is real excited," said Josh Smith, who had an up-and-down relationship with Woodson. "There's definitely a comfort level there. He definitely knows the players. When anybody had problems on the court, we used to go to him for advice. He knows what everybody likes to do."

Jamal Crawford: "He’s very experienced, just being around the game. He’s very knowledgeable. I think he is prepared for a lot of different situations.”

"Everything is going to be a first for him, but I think it will be a little bit easier transition because he knows our team. He doesn’t have to come in and learn the different personalities, what makes people tick and how to motivate them.”

“It’s not like we are a bad team. Now we can continue to build; we don’t have to start over.”

Zaza Pachulia: (When Drew coached the 2nd unit in practice) "One thing I can say, in practice when we were playing 5-on-5, we were having fun. Whether we lose, or sometimes we beat the 1st unit. Bottom line we were having fun and the ball was moving from left to right, and everyone was enjoying playing basketball. I am looking forward to the same thing for the whole team."

"I'm excited... he is going to bring a different energy to the locker room. We are going to help him. He is going to help us as players. As you see all the players are here, so it's going to be a great experience and we are definitely looking forward to it."
