Camp Roster at 19 as Practices Begin Today


ATLANTA, GA (Oct. 5, 2004) -- The Atlanta Hawks today signed free agent forward Anthony "Pig" Miller, according to General Manager Billy Knight. The signing brings the Hawks' roster to 19 heading into the start of training camp today.

A seven-year NBA veteran, Miller has seen three different regular season stints with the Hawks, including one game in 1996-97, 37 games in 1997-98 and two games in 2000-01. He's also spent time with the LA Lakers, Houston and Philadelphia, averaging 2.8 ppg and 2.7 rpg (.509 FG%, .576 FT%) in 179 career contests (15 starts).

Miller spent time last season with Yakima of the Continental Basketball Association (CBA), averaging 13.0 ppg and 11.7 rpg in 32 appearances, and also saw action in Venezuela and China. His last regular season NBA action came with Philadelphia in 2001.

The Hawks begin two-a-day practices Tuesday at Philips Arena, from 10-12 noon (media access, 11:30 a.m.) and from 4-6 p.m. (closed to media).
