    ATLANTA, GA (June 23, 2005) --
The Atlanta Hawks will entertain several of the top candidates for the 2005 NBA Draft as the team continues pre-draft preparations. The Hawks hold three picks (No’s. 2, 31 and 59) in the June 28 draft (7:30 p.m., ESPN). Thursday, the Hawks worked out several big men prospects, including Clemson's Sharrod Ford, a third-team All-ACC selection last year as a senior.

After Ford's workout, we caught up to him for a brief Q & A:

    Sharrod Ford
    Prospect Profile

  • Hawks.com: What has it been like working out for so many teams?
Ford: I think this is my ninth workout, I'm not even sure.  I've done so many I've lost track  It's been a fun process though, traveling to different cities, just going in and out, it's been a challenge.

Hawks.com: What has been the hardest part?
Ford: I think the travel. I've been going back and forth from the East Coast to the West Coast, it begins to wear on your body, but it's something you have to get used to, because the travel is like that in the NBA.

Hawks.com: What role could you see yourself having on the Hawks?
Ford: I think I can bring a lot of energy. I am a team player, so I can fit in right with whatever the team is trying to do. Rebounding, stuff like that, whatever the team needs me to do I will do.

Hawks.com: Is it helpful to have played your college ball in a top league like the ACC?
Ford: I think it helps a lot.  You are going up against the best competition in the country every night.  It will be the same way in the NBA, going up against the best guys in the world.
