Hawks Celebrate Team History as Part of NBA Hardwood Classics Nights
The Atlanta Hawks will celebrate the team's history in the city with a series of retro games as part of the NBA Hardwood Classics Nights. In addition to the Hawks, 11 other teams will honor their history by commemorating franchise milestones, anniversaries, and legendary teams and players with retro uniforms, special ceremonies, in-arena entertainment and promotions.
To commemorate these special games, the Hawks will don their classic green and blue home jerseys, worn from 1970-72, for four games beginning with the December 12 contest at Indiana. For the three games at Philips Arena, in-game features will include the recognition of Hawks legends and team milestones from the era, retro attire and performances by the Hawks Dance Team, 70's themed premium giveaways and contests, and much more.
Those in attendance will be able to purchase special retro merchandise at the Team Gear Store and receive discounts on selected concessions. Fans are encouraged to come dressed in their favorite "vintage" outfit for the chance to win some great prizes.
The Hawks will also "turn back the clock" on ticket prices by offering upper-level seats for only $7.50. Single game tickets are available through Ticketmaster, by calling 1-800-4NBA-TIX or online at www.hawks.com.
Additionally, the first 5,000 people through the doors for the December 27 game against Detroit will receive a free Hawks ringer T-shirt, courtesy of UPS, featuring the 1970-72 green and blue logo. As a special treat, hip-hop legend Doug E. Fresh will perform a live halftime concert.

Last season, eight teams hosted NBA Hardwood Classics Nights games.
