Former NBA sharpshooter Dennis Scott is in his second season as the radio analyst alongside Steve Holman on 790 The Zone and the Hawks Radio Network. He is the franchise’s first full-time radio analyst.

After leading Georgia Tech to the NCAA Final Four in 1990, Scott was named the ACC Player of the Year and the Associated Press National Player of the Year. He was selected fourth overall by the Orlando Magic in the NBA 1990 Draft. He spent the majority of his 10-year NBA career with the Magic (1990-97), earning All-Rookie Team honors in 1991 and helping the team win the Eastern Conference Championship in 1995.

Scott held the NBA’s record for most three-pointers made in a season with 267 for nine years, until Seattle’s Ray Allen eclipsed that mark last season. He spent time with Orlando, Phoenix, Dallas, New York, Minnesota and the former Vancouver Grizzlies franchise.

No stranger to broadcasting, Scott hosted his own local television show while in Orlando entitled “The Dennis Scott Show,” and a weekend show called “The Highlight Zone.” He has made guest appearances on several Nickelodeon sitcoms, including “My Brother and Me,” “Clarissa Explains it All,” and “Gullah, Gullah Island.”

He has co-hosted the NBA’s “Stay in School Jam,” as part of NBA All-Star Weekend, served as a studio analyst for FSN South’s “Southern Sports Report,” and as a sideline reporter for CBS’ 2003 Final Four coverage from San Antonio. In 2004, Scott finished third among six former NBA players who competed for an NBA studio analyst position on ESPN’s “Dream Job,” won by Dee Brown.

Scott also serves as the General Manager of the American Basketball Association’s Atlanta Vision team, a position he has held since May 2005. Scott and his wife Rachael reside in Sandy Springs with son Dennis III and daughter Crystal. Dennis’ son Ryan plays college basketball at Johnson C. Smith University in North Carolina.
