With over 12 years of radio, hosting and broadcast industry experience, CJ Simpson has emerged as a well-respected and recognizable face in the media through her work in the community. She has spent the past 12 years working in the entertainment industry of Atlanta, Georgia.
CJ is currently the In-Game Host for both the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks and the WNBA’s Los Angeles Sparks and served as the in-game host for the WNBA's Atlanta Dream from 2008-2012. In radio broadcast, she most recently was the morning co-host of “The Opening Drive with Rick, Randy and CJ” on Atlanta Sports Radio 92.9 The Game. Prior to joining The Game, CJ served as the co-host of the syndicated radio show “Murph Dawg and CJ in the Morning” and previously on Atlanta’s 95.5 the Beat. CJ started her radio career on Hot 107.9’s “The Ryan Cameron Morning Show” which later became “The A-Team Morning Show” in Atlanta.
Born and raised in Durham, North Carolina, she earned her Bachelor of Arts and Science degree in Psychology from North Carolina Central University, where she graduated at the top of her class. She then went on to obtain her Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology and Psychological Services from Clark Atlanta University.
In 2012, Simpson received North Carolina Central University’s “40 Under 40 Award”. This prestigious award recognizes young alumni who have made significant contributions in the arts, entertainment, education, law, business, philanthropy, public service and government fields.
CJ values giving back to the community and consistently volunteers her time with charitable organizations and events. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for Sporty Girls Inc., a non-profit organization that introduces minority girls to non-traditional sports.
