Here Is Your Best Chance To Be Retweeted By the @ATLHawks

For the third time this season, Atlanta Hawks fans have an opportunity to "take over" the team account during a game.

Using the hashtag #HawksFanTakeover, fans can tweet live commentary during the Hawks vs. Heat game on Saturday, Feb. 28 at 7:30 p.m.  Instead of sending original tweets that night, the @ATLHawks account will only retweet fans.

So what's the best way to get retweeted?  Well, if you follow the @ATLHawks on a regular basis during games, you'll know that the account provides very little "play-by-play" updates, leaning instead toward more color commentary.  Fans who add their own analysis, use rich media (photos, GIFs, memes, etc.) and those who have fun will be better candidates for retweets than those who simply provide score updates and stats.

That said, we'll consider any and all tweets for a retweet.  The only thing that's required is to use the hashtag #HawksFanTakeover somewhere in your tweet.  The account will only retweet tweets that include that hashtag, so make sure you have it if you want to be retweeted.

Here's another bonus:  Any tweet you send with that hashtag also has a chance to make it onto SportSouth's broadcast that night, either before, during or after the game!

The Hawks held a successful #HawksFanTakeover on Nov. 25 when Atlanta went to Washington D.C. and beat the Wizards, and another on Jan. 14 when fans helped get the hashtag trending nationally in a win over the Celtics.
