- The Hawks started the game with great energy on both ends of the floor. At the halfway point of the first quarter the Hawks led 22-7 and all five starters had scored and grabbed a rebound. Everyone was active and the offense was creating great looks at the basket. - "The Wingmen" didn't miss a beat once the starters took a rest. First Crawford hi three highlight quality jump shots in a row, and then Zaza stole the show with a behind the back pass to Joe Smith for the dunk. Big Z's play seemed to warrant more attention than the typical "Play of the Night" spot, so here is the footage: - At the end of the first half the Hawks led 69-41 with 10 different players scoring. They recorded 20 assists compared to just seven for Detroit, while shooting 73% from the field (season-high for any half). - The second half was not quite as pretty for the Hawks as the Pistons eventually cut the lead to single digits in the fourth quarter. Still, the outcome of the game was never seriously in doubt as Atlanta shot a season-high 63% from the field. - Josh Smith finished with a career-high 11 assists and also had 5 steals (all in the first half). Smoove has been a defensive force all season for the Hawks and should be a strong candidate for Defensive Player of the Year. Check out Josh Smith's new videos HERE. |
