  • Atlanta held Miami to 38 second half points en route to a 98-89 comeback win over the Heat on Friday at Philips Arena.
  • The Hawks grabbed a 28-25 lead after the 1st quarter thanks to a 14-5 run midway through the stanza...Joe Johnson had 10 points in the quarter, while LeBron James tallied 15 (7-7FTs) for the Heat.
  • Miami ended the 2nd quarter on an 11-6 spurt to take a 51-46 lead at the break...Johnson led the Hawks in with 17 first half points, while James led all scorers with 21.
  • Atlanta caught fire in the 3rd quarter shooting 52.2% from the field (committing no turnovers) and outscoring Miami 29-20...The Hawks continued to lockup defensively in the 4th, outscoring Miami 23-18.
  • Johnson finished with 27 and 6 assists to lead the Hawks...Mike Bibby (13), Al Horford (12), Josh Smith (11) and Jamal Crawford (11) also scored in double-figures...Marvin Williams added 9 points and 11 rebounds.
  • James tallied 38 points and 11 boards to lead Miami and Chris Bosh had 14 points and 14 rebounds.
  • The Hawks are back in action tomorrow at Charlotte (7pm on 97.9 FM)

- Don't be fooled. This WAS a preseason game, but the Hawks did not simply take advantage of extended minutes for the Heat's second unit. Each of the Hawks starters finished with a +/- better than +10 and four of them were better than +18. On the contrary, LeBron James scored 38 points but his team was outscored by 17 during the time that he was on the floor.

- A throwback for Bibby. Mike Bibby reached into his old back of tricks and came through with some huge buckets down the stretch for the Hawks. He also recorded a block on a Carlos Arroyo shot attempt after finishing last season with only three.
