Ruuuuuben! The soulful voice straight from area code 205 is joining the cast of celebrities set to help the Atlanta Hawks tip off the 2003-04 season at the team’s home opener November 1 against the Indiana Pacers. Fans will want to be in their seats early, as J Records recording artist Ruben Studdard will honor America before the game with a rendition of the national anthem.
As a special treat, “The Velvet Teddy Bear” will take the stage again for an exclusive halftime performance of some old favorites and songs from his new album Soulful before it hits stores. The game is slated to start at 7:00 p.m. (doors open at 5:30). Fans can get a early glimpse of Ruben and other stars from the world of entertainment during their “red carpet” entrance to Philips Arena before the game.
