One of the
greatest scorers in NBA history,
Dominique Wilkins has been the symbol of the Atlanta Hawks
franchise ever since he joined the team out of the Univ. of Georgia in
1982. Nicknamed the "Human Highlight Film," 'Nique played the game with a breathtaking combination of power and grace, finishing his career as the
Hawks all-time leading scorer. Wilkins joined the Hawks as the
VP of Basketball in 2004 and continues to bring the same passion and enthusiasm to the organization that brought the fans to their feet in his playing days.
On September 8, 2006, NBA Legend Dominique
Wilkins
was enshrined
in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame alongside other
former players Charles
Barkley and Joe Dumars in Springfield,
Mass. The three combined to play 45 seasons in the league, compiling 26
total All-Star selections and 21 appearances on All-NBA teams.
