Foundation Grants
The Atlanta Hawks Foundation takes pride in giving back to communities where our
fans live, work and play. One way that we support these neighborhoods is through
the Foundation's grant program. To make a meaningful impact, the Foundation has
chosen to support the following three focus areas:
1. Education – This grant is awarded to a non-profit that is using innovative
methods and programs to educate Georgia’s youth.
2. Health & Wellness – In an effort to help reduce childhood obesity, this grant
will be awarded to a non-profit organization helping kids develop an active
lifestyle and/or healthy eating habits.
3. Recreation – This grant is awarded to a non-profit organization dedicated to
engaging youth in athletics and other physical fitness activities.
Since the Atlanta Hawks Foundation receives funding requests far in excess of
its budget, worthy causes may be declined when even when the request falls into
one of the three focus areas. The Foundation will be accepting grant
applications starting February 1,
2010. All applications must be received by March 31,
2010. Award notifications will be made
in June.

The Atlanta Hawks Full Court Fest in February was one of the hottest events of the year where fans had the chance to go head-to-head with their favorite players and coaches in games including blackjack, poker, ping pong and X-Box. The evening also featured an elegant dinner music, raffle and silent auction, with all proceeds benefitting the Atlanta Hawks Foundation. Highlights of the night included Marvin Williams taking on fans (and winning) in ping pong, Joe Johnson demonstrating his skills at the poker table and an autographed photo of Zaza Pachulia battling Kevin Garnett during last year’s playoffs. Platinum event sponsors were Philips and Sprite.

It was a beautiful 82 degrees and sunny…the perfect day
for teeing off for a good cause. These were the
conditions for the Atlanta Hawks Foundation annual golf
tournament held on Thursday, October 16 at Flat Creek
Country Club in Peachtree City. The highlight of the
afternoon was the Hawks team mixing and mingling with
sponsors off the court and on the greens. Whether taking
a putt, signing autographs or posing for photos, the
players, coaches and Hawks GM Rick Sund demonstrated
their appreciation for the foundation sponsors.
Since the golf tournament’s inception in 1994, more than
$1,000,000 has been raised in support of the
organization’s charitable endeavors. Such efforts
include providing college scholarships to high school
seniors, awarding grants to local youth charities, and
opening Reading & Learning Centers at Boys & Girls Clubs
and YMCAs.
Platinum sponsors included Philips, Coca-Cola, Comcast,
Delta Air Lines, Fast Signs of Buckhead, Kia Motors and
UPS. Breakfast was provided by Chick-Fil-A®, lunch by
Locos Grill, and dinner by Outback Steakhouse of
Peachtree City.
