Hawks Players, Staffers Visit Local Hospitals;
Help Needy Families With Wal-Mart Shopping Sprees

ATLANTA, GA (December 22, 2004) - Continuing with the organization's numerous philanthropic endeavors during this season of giving, the Atlanta Hawks visited patients at two local hospitals on Tuesday, December 21, while also taking disadvantaged families on Wal-Mart shopping sprees. Hip Hop star Bow Wow (representing the Bow Wow Foundation) took part in one of the hospital visits.

Players, coaches, front office staff, dance team members and mascots split into two groups to spread a little holiday cheer at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston by visiting with patients and families, passing out gift bags and signing autographs. Bow Wow joined the Hawks group at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston.

A third group of players and coaches took five area families in need on $500 shopping sprees at the Wal-Mart located at 4725 Ashford-Dunwoody Road. Wal-Mart donated $500 Gift Cards for each to shop for food, toys and clothes. The Hawks players and coaches also made a food donation to the families.
