Adreian Payne was a four-year standout at Michigan State under Tom Izzo.  He was named to the Second Team All Big Ten his junior and senior years, the second of which came despite him mising seven games due to injury.  The shot-blocking specialist also swatted 141 shots in his four years.

The Hawks picked Payne 15th overall in the 2014 Draft.  General Manager Danny Ferry noted his ability to run and spread the floor as a big man as reasons why he liked Payne, and he'll play at the professional level for the first time this week.
