Pre-audition clinics and classes available for prospective team members
MEMPHIS — The Memphis Grizzlies will be holding auditions for the 2011-12 Grizz Girls dance team at 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 9 at Rhodes College’s Mallory Gymnasium, but before the best dancers in the Mid-South audition, the Grizzlies are offering prospective team members the chance to participate in pre-audition clinics and classes that will give them a “leg up” on the competition.

Coach Hollins was honored by the City of Memphis in recognition of leading the team in their most successful season in team history.
The City of Memphis will honor Grizzlies Head Coach Lionel Hollins with a formal proclamation from Mayor A C Wharton and City Council Chairman Myron Lowery at the City Council meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, June 7 in recognition of Hollins’ role in leading the Grizzlies to their most successful playoff run in franchise history. The meeting will take place at 3:30 p.m. at City Hall (125 N. Main St., First Floor) and is open to the media.
After a historic postseason run that saw the Memphis Grizzlies earn their first seven playoff wins in team history, the Grizzlies moved closer to the ultimate goal of every NBA franchise: a trip to the NBA Finals. The Miami Heat and Dallas Mavericks made it to that point this season in a rematch of the 2006 NBA Finals, which the Heat won in six games. To get back to the NBA’s ultimate stage, both teams enlisted the help of some former Grizzlies.
