The Grizzlies opened up their training camp a much more mature and confident group than in previous years. “There was a little bit of calmness around the team,” observed head coach Lionel Hollins, “because guys have matured and they’ve been through the wars and they’ve got a feel for what they need to do.”

MEMPHIS, December 9, 2011 – The Grizzlies are set to open their doors and give fans a look at the 2011-12 Grizzlies as they take the FedExForum floor at a free Open Practice on Sunday, Dec. 18 from 1-2 p.m. Although a donation is not required for entry, the Grizzlies are asking all fans attending the Open Practice to donate a book benefiting MIFA’s Holiday Hope Chest.

MEMPHIS, Dec. 7, 2011 – As anticipation builds for the 2011-12 NBA season, the Memphis Grizzlies are set to air Memphis Grizzlies: A Season To Believe. The 30-minute television special, which highlights the 2011-12 Grizzlies’ historic 10th Season In Memphis, will air a total of eight times on SportSouth from Dec. 13-25 leading up to the team’s 2011-12 season opener against the San Antonio Spurs on Dec. 26 at 7:30 p.m. CT at the AT&T Center.

MEMPHIS, December 5, 2011 – The Grizzlies announced that Bob Thornton and Lloyd Pierce will complete head coach Lionel Hollins’ staff as an assistant (Thornton) and player development coach (Pierce).
With almost 30 years of collegiate and professional basketball experience as a player, scout and coach, Thornton comes to Memphis after spending the past four seasons (2007-11) as an advance scout for the Oklahoma City Thunder.
