Second Annual Grizz Gala sold out

MEMPHIS, February 10, 2011— The Memphis Grizzlies announced today that the Second Annual Grizz Gala, presented by Gold Strike Casino Resort, which will be held this Saturday, Feb. 12 is sold out. All proceeds from this sold out event benefit Grizzlies House at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®.

“More than anything, this sellout represents Grizzlies fans’ commitment to helping to support Grizzlies House at St. Jude, which is obviously very close to our hearts as a pillar of our community efforts,” said Greg Campbell, Grizzlies President of Business Operations. “The convergence of our team playing their best basketball of the season over the last month and the opportunity to work with a great partner like Gold Strike Casino Resort will make this one of the most unforgettable parties of the year.”

The blue tie affair will give attendees a chance to take part in an evening that brings the class and excitement that the Memphis Grizzlies represent on the court and in the community. Gold Strike Casino Resort’s world-class culinary team will prepare a delectable menu with a variety of live action cooking stations that attendees can enjoy with Rudy Gay, Zach Randolph and other team members. Throughout the evening an open bar will be available to guests who will also have an opportunity to meet and participate in interactive games with Marc Gasol, Mike Conley, O.J. Mayo and the rest of the Grizzlies roster and coaches.

Grizz Gala goers will also have the opportunity to take part in a silent auction with one of the most impressive collections of sports memorabilia and one-of-a-kind fan experiences in Grizzlies fundraising history. Proceeds from the Grizz Gala will support Memphis Grizzlies House located on the campus of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Opened in 2004, Memphis Grizzlies House is a short-term housing facility located on the campus of St. Jude. Memphis Grizzlies House can accommodate up to 100 St. Jude families and features an enclosed playground, fitness room and basketball court.

Fans who were unable to purchase tickets before the event sold out but would still like to make a donation to Grizzlies House at St. Jude can take part in the Grizzlies on-line auction series at or the Grizzlies in-arena auctions at an upcoming Grizzlies game. The remaining games that will have in-arena auctions include March 7 vs. Oklahoma City and April 10 vs. New Orleans.
