MEMPHIS, Dec. 7, 2011 – As anticipation builds for the 2011-12 NBA season, the Memphis Grizzlies are set to air Memphis Grizzlies: A Season To Believe.  The 30-minute television special, which highlights the 2011-12 Grizzlies’ historic 10th Season In Memphis, will air a total of eight times on SportSouth from Dec. 13-25 leading up to the team’s 2011-12 season opener against the San Antonio Spurs on Dec. 26 at 7:30 p.m. CT at the AT&T Center.

Memphis Grizzlies: A Season To Believe tells the story of how, in the midst of devastating floods throughout Memphis and the Mid-South, the Grizzlies united the region through basketball during the team’s dramatic 13-game run through the 2011 NBA Playoffs.

Behind Head Coach Lionel Hollins, All-NBA Third Team member Zach Randolph and a gritty team effort, Memphis shocked the top-ranked Spurs in the first round and then took the Oklahoma City Thunder to seven games in the Western Conference Semifinals, earning the franchise’s first seven postseason victories and recording a 5-1 record in front of six consecutive sell-out crowds at FedExForum.

The half-hour telecast, which debuts on Tuesday, Dec. 13 at 8 p.m. CT, will give fans a chance to hear from Grizzlies players, Head Coach Lionel Hollins and General Manager Chris Wallace as they reflect on the most successful season in franchise history.
