Grizzlies defeat Pelicans - 3/12/14
Mike Conley (16 points) hit the game-winning floater with just 1.5 seconds remaining and the Grizzlies completed a late comeback, winning 90-88 over the Pelicans. Marc Gasol powered the Grizz with 15 points and nine rebounds and Zach Randolph had 13 points and nine boards. Box Score
- A back and forth first quarter (five lead changes, six ties) that saw the Pelicans lead by as many as 5 saw the Grizzlies end the quarter on an 8-4 run and take a 28-26 lead after 1Q. Anthony Davis had 14 points in the quarter on 5-7 FG shooting.
- The Pelicans took a 40-39 lead midway through the 2Q and at that point, the Pelicans bench had scored all 14 of the teams points in the period. The Pelicans ran off a 9-3 run after that to build a lead that they would eventually take to halftime: 57-48. Anthony Davis led the game with 22 points, a mark that was the most a Pelicans player has totaled in a half this year.
- The Grizzlies opened the 3Q on an 8-1 run over the first 4:02 to turn a nine point deficit in to a two point game. Ultimately, the Pelicans weathered the storm to maintain their lead of 74-67 at 3Q.
- The Grizzlies used an 11-5 run to open the fourth quarter to turn a seven point deficit entering the fourth in to a one point game.
