Zach Randolph assists with utility payments

Grizzlies forward Zach Randolph gave back to the community, by covering utility payments for families who are in need of assistance. Zach visited with Memphis-area residents on Thursday, January 24 to pay utilities for the residents to have their services restored and to sign autographs. For the fourth consecutive year, Randolph has donated $20,000 to Metropolitan Inter-Faith Association (MIFA) to be allocated to 100 homes in the Memphis area, as part of their Memphis Light, Gas and Water (MLGW) Plus-1 program.

"It's a blessing to be a blessing," said Z-Bo on Twitter in-between visits. You can follow Zach at @MacBo50 on Twitter.

Plus-1 is a program administered by MIFA to pay utility services for people in need. MLGW customers fund the program through one-time donations or by adding a dollar or more to their utility bill each month. Since its inception in 1982, Plus-1 has provided millions of dollars in assistance to families in crisis in Memphis and Shelby County.

Founded in 1968, Metropolitan Inter-Faith Association, MIFA, is a unique organization designed to support the independence of vulnerable seniors and families in crisis through high-impact programs. Through thousands of volunteers and donors, MIFA unites the community through service.
