Wizards take the win in Washington

The Memphis Grizzlies fell to the Washington Wizards 104-101 on the road at Verizon Center on Wednesday night. The game marked Washington's 13th straight home victory.

The Grizzlies trailed by as many as 19, but with 4:28 left in the fourth quarter, Memphis went on a 10-0 run to bring the score within two at 97-95 with 2:36 left in the game. The Wizards then extended the lead once again by as many as seven.

However, the Grizzlies were able to cut Washington's lead down to three at 104-101 when Vince Carter connected on a 31-footer from beyond the arc with 14.5 left in the game. James Ennis III's jump ball tip then gave the Grizzlies the last possession. However, Memphis failed to connect on their last shot for the tie.

Gasol led the Grizzlies with a game-high 28 points and seven assists while Mike Conley also contributed 20 points and six assists. With 15 points and 13 rebounds, Green recorded his sixth double-double of the season and a team-leading 12th game with ten or more rebounds. Green grabbed seven of his 13 boards in the third quarter alone.

Carter also scored in double figures with 12 points, shooting 3-of-6 (.500) from three-point range.

John Wall (25 points, 13 assists) and Markieff Morris (17 points, 12 rebounds) both recorded double-doubles. Otto Porter Jr. contributed 25 points shooting 6-of-8 (.750) from beyond the arc while Bradley Beal also scored in double figures with 12 points.
