Grizzlies fall to Jazz at FedExForum

The Memphis Grizzlies lost a back-and-forth game that featured 15 ties and 14 lead changes, falling 82-73 to the Utah Jazz Sunday at FedExForum.  

With both teams ranking third or higher in the NBA for opponent points per game and 24th or lower in points per game entering tonight, the low scoring affair was to be expected. The Grizzlies scoring total and field goal percentage (.301) were season lows for the team.

Both teams struggled from three-point range, but with the game tied at 66 with 5:25 remaining, the Jazz hit three straight three-pointers to go on a 9-2 run over the next 3:07. The Grizzlies tied a season low in three-pointers (2) and recorded a season-low for three-point percentage (.087).

JaMychal Green posted his fifth double-double of the season (10 points, 11 rebounds), tying Marc Gasol for the most by a Grizzlies player this season.

Zach Randolph also posted a double-double (12 points, 11 rebounds), becoming the Grizzlies’ all-time leader in double-doubles off the bench (Stromile Swift, 16).

Rudy Gobert led the Jazz by recording his seventh straight double-double (21 points, 12 rebounds) and connecting on all nine of his field goal attempts. Gordon Hayward chipped in to lead the Jazz with 22 points. Utah blocked 11 shots, a season-high for a Grizzlies opponent.
