MEMPHIS, December 26, 2011 — The Grizzlies Opening Night rematch of the 2011 Western Conference Semifinals against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday, Dec. 28, presented by First Tennessee, will look to the future both on and off the court with the most anticipated season in franchise history.

Fans attending the home opener can tip-off the festivities early at 6 p.m. with Grizzlies entertainment on the FedExForum Plaza and around the concourses, featuring music, face painters, balloon artists, appearances by Grizz and the Grizz Girls and a special Jookin’ dance exhibition featuring Memphis native and international performing sensation Lil Buck. Plus, the first 10,000 fans in attendance will receive a Grizzlies Headband, courtesy of First Tennessee Bank, a familiar Playoff must for Grizz Nation fans.

The evening’s halftime on Opening Night is set to feature FreeSol, who, coming off their appearance on Late Night with David Letterman, will electrify Grizz Nation with their fresh hip-hop/rock hybrid of Memphis and southern sound.

“As the players and coaches get back to unfinished business on the court with a Playoff rematch against the Thunder, we know on the business side that Opening Night represents one of the most exciting evenings of the season for all members of Grizz Nation,” said Grizzlies President of Business Operations Greg Campbell.  “As the team looks ahead to new heights and goals, our entertainment lineup on Opening Night will speak to the Memphis’ entertainment icons of tomorrow while celebrating our Playoff past as a piece of Memphis history.”
