Grizzlies host Staxtacular Partner Reception and Stax Music Academy Students

MEMPHIS, February 7, 2012 — The Memphis Grizzlies Charitable Foundation and Stax Music Academy are bringing the worlds of basketball and music together again at FedExForum on Thursday, February 9 from 5-6:30 p.m., and media is invited to attend.

Five-time Staxtacular hosts Rudy Gay and Mike Conley will be joined by Grizzlies first-year guard Jeremy Pargo for a special private concert performed by the Stax Music Academy Students to thank the partners involved  for supporting Staxtacular in Memphis for the eighth consecutive year. This special event will lead up to Staxtacular on Saturday, February 11.  Known as one of the biggest parties of the year, Staxtacular is the annual soul-shakin’ throw-down and auction that benefits the Stax Music Academy and honors the Stax Records legacy. All proceeds from the event go to Stax Music Academy’s youth mentoring and music programs.

Fans and friends who want to get a head start on bidding may access many of the unique items on the auction block early in Staxtacular’s Online Auction, which is going on now. Auction items will either be sold during the online auction or will begin accepting bids, which will then be carried over to the live event.  To view the auction items, visit biddingforgood.com/staxtacular.

General Staxtacular information may be found at www.staxtacular.com.
