Lady Bears spread cheer with teddy bear distribution at LeBonheur
Although the Memphis Grizzlies players and coaching staff had returned from a road trip late the night before, the Grizzlies new charitable group, the Lady Bears, were still doing their part to help the Memphis community with a stop at Le Bonheur Children’s Medical Center on March 18.
Angie Hollins, wife of Grizzlies Head Coach Lionel Hollins, led a group of eight Lady Bears who distributed teddy bears to 100 patients at the hospital. The teddy bears were collected throughout the month of February by members of the Lady Bears.
The highlight of the visit came when Mrs. Hollins and Grizzlies team mascot Grizz, visited a two-year old patient who took a special liking to the Grizzlies furry and fun-loving mascot. After giving the child a brand-new teddy bear, Mrs. Hollins asked the child if he was excited to see Grizz. With a joyous look on his face the child cheered and laughed, guaranteeing that on this day, Mrs. Hollins, the Lady Bears and Grizz made the lives of the patients at Le Bonheur Children’s Medical Center a happier place.
