Grizzlies’ NBA Development League affiliate Iowa Energy announce Open Tryout in Memphis

The Memphis Grizzlies announced on Sept. 4 that the club’s NBA Development League affiliate, the Iowa Energy, will hold open tryouts for the 2014-15 season on Oct. 11 at the Hyde Gym on the Memphis University School (MUS) campus from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. (6191 Park Ave., Memphis, TN 38119). Doors will open for registration at 9 a.m.

“Open tryouts have always been an incredible opportunity for players to showcase their abilities to our staff,” said Grizzlies Director of Minor League Operations Chris Makris. “The chance to play for the NBA D-League affiliate of the Memphis Grizzlies is an opportunity that I’m confident will bring out high-level talent, and we are excited to begin the process of building the Iowa Energy roster for the upcoming season.”

Players who participate in the open tryouts will be observed and evaluated by members of the Memphis Grizzlies and Iowa Energy basketball operations staffs.

Fans who want to support the Memphis Grizzlies and purchase 2014-15 Season Tickets, or 22- and 12-Game Packs can do so by calling (901) 888-HOOP or going online to grizzlies.com. Season Tickets start at $7 per game. 22-Game Packs start at $12 per game, 12-Game Packs start as low as $15 per game. Note: All applicants must be eligible to play in the NBA D-League and complete the required paperwork. For registrations completed 10 days prior to tryouts the fee is $150. The fee increases to $200 for registrations completed within 10 days or at the door at MUS.
