Grizzlies teaming up with Memphis Zoo for 2010 Tour De Grizz

MEMPHIS, Feb. 17, 2010 -The Memphis Grizzlies and the Memphis Zoo are encouraging the citizens of Memphis to see all the bears in the city by bike and take part in the "2010 Tour De Grizz" on March 20 when the Grizzlies tip-off against the Golden State Warriors.

Participants in the "2010 Tour De Grizz" will receive zoo general admission tickets to see Memphis's newest grizzlies at the Teton Trek exhibit at the Memphis Zoo and then hop on their bikes and take the 5.0 mile ride from the zoo to FedExForum to see another group of Grizzlies that has the city abuzz. Riders in the "2010 Tour De Grizz" will depart from the Memphis Zoo at 5:30 p.m. and be accompanied by a Memphis Police escort to ensure the safety of the participants as they make the trip to and from FedExForum.

"We are excited to partner with a pillar of the community like the Memphis Zoo for an event that is quickly becoming a spring tradition here in Memphis," said Greg Campbell, Grizzlies President of Business Operations. "This year's riders will have the opportunity to take part in an event like no-other for a very affordable price."

Once the riders have reached their basketball destination they will be assured of "Bike Valet Parking" that will also be available at the zoo prior to departure. Following the contest between the Grizzlies and the Warriors, riders will leave FedExForum 15 minutes after the final buzzer. From there they will return to the zoo and have the option to proceed to Bosco's Squared for a post-event happy hour that will include food and drink specials for "2010 Tour De Grizz" participants.

The "2010 Tour De Grizz" package includes a ticket to that night's game between the Grizzlies and Warriors, admission to the Memphis Zoo the entire day of March 20 and a "2010 Tour De Grizz" souvenir item to commemorate what is sure to be a memorable ride. Registration for the ride will begin at the zoo starting at 1 p.m. on March 20.

All participants are required to provide their own bike and safety equipment. The "2010 Tour De Grizz" will take place rain or shine. Fans who have already purchased a ticket for that evening's game against the Warriors are also invited to join the "2010 Tour De Grizz" by calling (901) 205-1473.
