MEMPHIS, NOVEMBER 3, 2012– The Grizzlies will host the Utah Jazz in their 2012-13 regular season home opener, presented by First Tennessee Bank, on Monday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m.
Fans are encouraged to arrive early and enjoy the Opening Night Plaza Party. Beginning two hours prior to tip-off, the Plaza Party will feature music and entertainment from the Grizzline and the Grit Grind Squad’s Jookin’ Showcase, inflatables, face painters, balloon artists, official Grizzlies merchandise, sign-making stations and an interactive video game trailer. Other highlights include appearances from Grizz, the Grizz Girls and Claw Crew. Also, the first 10,000 fans through the doors will receive a Grizzlies T-Shirt presented by First Tennessee.
Inside the arena, Opening Night goers will be treated to a special Opening Night Introduction sequence and performances by Garry Goin and the Memphis Grizzlies House Band. Entertainment will also be provided by Grizz, the Grizz Girls, presented by Gold Strike Casino Resort, Grizzlies Grannies and Grandpas, presented by St. Francis Hospital, and the Kings of the Court, presented by Sky Zone. There will also be an extreme and high-energy all-new halftime performance by Flippenout.
In addition to these festivities, the Grizzlies encourage fans to support Hurricane Sandy relief efforts by the American Red Cross who will be on site to accept cash donations. Fans can also donate by going to www.redcross.org, call 1-800-RED-CROSS, or give a $10 donation by texting “REDCROSS” to 90999.
As part of #FanFriday and the weekend countdown to Opening Night, fans will have the chance to win a Grizzlies jersey and two tickets to Grizzlies Opening Night as part of the Grizz Nation Photo Challenge on Twitter and Facebook.
