Grizzlies Draft Workouts June 13
One could make a case that Dwayne Wade was the best player in all of college basketball last year. Remember how he almost single-handedly dismantled Kentucky to put his Marquette team in the Final Four? Dahntay Jones continues a long line of NBA talent originating from the hardcourt of Cameron Indoor [Duke]. Troy Bell is one of the best scorers in the history of Boston College basketball. Leandrinho Barbosa has simply dominated the competition in Brazil, a country that is no stranger to basketball success. Grizzlies.com had the opportunity to ask Assistant Coach Tony Barone, Sr. and Dahntay Jones a few questions.

Grizzlies.com: "We all know Wade can score, so what did you think of him defensively?"
TB: "The thing you came away with today about Dwayne is that he can be a great defender in this league. There's no question about that. He's physical. He's tough. He's got great foot quickness on the ball defensively."
Grizzlies.com: "What is the purpose of the 2 on 2 drill?"
TB: "If you're a guard, you need to know how to play. We wanted to see what they were going to do. Are you going to run into each other? Are you going to set a screen or make a back cut? ...That's part of the basketball IQ stuff."

DJ: "I just tried to go out today and work hard. Today's workout was my eighth workout and all of them have been hard. However, each time I go out and give the same effort. Each team is an opportunity, so you have to stay focused and give it your best effort."
