Grizzlies to host 2009 Draft Party at FedExForum, June 25

Television Special Who's #2 on FS Tennessee and Pick and Score contest at Grizzlies.com also set to debut.
MEMPHIS, June 5, 2009— With the second overall pick and two other selections in the 2009 NBA Draft, the Memphis Grizzlies have the “Oppor2nity” to make the upcoming draft the most exciting in team history, and they are inviting fans to watch it all unfold for free at their annual Draft Party at FedExForum on Thursday, June 25.
Doors for the free event will open at 5 p.m., at which time the Grizzlies 2009 Draft television special, Grizzlies Draft: Who’s #2, will air on Grizz Vision. Draft coverage and festivities will then tip off at 6 p.m. The Grizzlies moved up in last month’s Draft Lottery to earn the second overall pick in addition to the 27th and 36th selections that they currently own.
The evening will be hosted by the Grizzlies television duo of Pete Pranica and Sean Tuohy and Grizzlies radio play-by-play announcer Eric Hasseltine, who will be joined throughout the night by Grizzlies players, coaches and other team personnel. The Grizz Girls and Grizz will also be on hand to join in the activities that include the chance to shoot free-throws on the floor at FedExForum, play on Grizzlies inflatables, participate in interactive text messaging games and much more.
In addition to the Draft Party, the Grizzlies will also be holding the “Pick and Score” contest, where fans who go to Grizzlies.com and guess correctly what the team does with the No. 2 pick will be entered into a random drawing for the “Oppor2nity” to win the Grand Prize of a pair of First Tennessee Club Level Season Tickets. One lucky runner-up will be drawn to receive two 11-Game Power Packs as well. The “Pick and Score” contest begins on June 17.

The Grizzlies have also created a special “Oppor2nity Zone” where fans can catch this year’s No. 2 overall pick in action with tickets that are available on the Plaza Level for just $22.20 per game.
