Memphis, Tennessee – The Memphis Grizzlies are pleased to announce the organization has entered into a corporate partnership with McDonald’s. Furthermore, McDonald’s and the team have announced the creation of the Three-Point Club to recognize students who make the Honor Roll.
All local schools are invited to participate in the Three-Point Club, and students from participating schools who make the Honor Roll will receive a complimentary ticket to one of three games: February 2 vs. Utah, Mar. 24 vs. Denver or Apr. 8 vs. Phoenix. Furthermore, each high school student will also receive a McDonald’s “Be Our Guest” card good for one free breakfast or lunch/dinner sandwich of their choice at participating locations, while middle and elementary school students will receive a coupon for a free six-piece order of Chicken McNuggets.
Furthermore, at each of the three games listed above, two randomly selected school principals will represent their schools in a shooting contest on the court during a timeout, with the winner getting up to $5,000 for their school.
“We’re proud of the work our organization does in the community, and we’re thrilled to partner with a great company like McDonald’s to create an exciting program like the Three-Point Club,” said Mike Redlick, Memphis Grizzlies Executive Vice President of Business Operations. “Any opportunity to get kids excited about school is a win-win for everyone involved.”
“This new partnership between the Memphis Grizzlies and McDonald's is an opportunity to challenge students to do well in school," said Jim Byrd, McDonald's owner/operator. "We know that success in any avenue of life can be directly connected to education. McDonald's is proud to be the sponsor of the Three-Point Club and a part of the community in which we live and work."
School principals who’d like to register their schools with the Three-Point Club can contact Christina Tebbe with the Memphis Grizzlies by e-mail, or by phone at (901) 205-1466.
