The Grizz Girls also get involved in the Memphis community and add a special touch to the Grizzlies events with their infectious personalities and their ability to make every Memphian feel like part of the Grizzlies’ family. After being selected by the league office to travel to China and Taiwan as part of NBA Asia’s 2012 NBA Youth Madness last summer, this current trip marks the third time the Grizz Girls have been selected to tour overseas as part of the NBA’s international initiatives in Asia.

Grizz Nation’s beloved mascot, Grizz, headed out this week to participate in the 2013 NBA 3X in Manila, Philippines, a nationwide 3-on-3 tournament. There will also be an open category for both men and women.  As the tournament’s celebrity guest, Grizz, will perform in daily dunk shows, meet and greets, sign autographs and take photos. He will be accompanied by the Indiana Pacers dancers, the Pacemates. He will return to Memphis with fans July 29.

Heading into his 19th season, Grizz, the mascot of the Memphis Grizzlies, has remained a furry fan favorite among members of Grizz Nation, so much so that he was named 2011 NBA Mascot of the Year as voted by his peers. This current trip marks the fourth time Grizz has been selected to tour overseas as part of the NBA’s international initiatives.
