On Wednesday, Feb. 27 the Grizzlies will host Hoops for St. Jude Night when they take on the Dallas Mavericks at FedExForum at 7 p.m. Prior to the game tipping off, a St. Jude representative will be presented with a donation by Gasol.

At halftime another check will be presented to St. Jude from the proceeds raised at Grizz Gala for the Memphis Grizzlies House, the short-term housing facility for families at St. Jude.
Marc Gasol and Head Coach Lionel Hollins both serve as official Hoops for St. Jude ambassadors, which include several other NBA players and coaches, and will help lead the week’s activities. In addition to encouraging NBA fans to join the Hoops for St. Jude team, each ambassador has committed to donate a minimum of $10,000.
Grizzlies’ Hoops for St. Jude Week is a culmination of a nationwide awareness effort for St. Jude that spans the 2012-13 season. During the season, The V Foundation for Cancer Research and ESPN have joined the NBA in the fight against pediatric cancer during Hoops for St. Jude. The V foundation, which funds breakthroughs in cancer research, is raising funds to support the research at St. Jude. One hundred percent of donations to the V Foundation from this campaign will go directly towards cancer research benefitting St. Jude’s patients. Visit stjude.org/hoops or jimmyv.org/nba or text HOPE to 50333 or JIMMYV to 80888 to make a $10 donation today and help create a world free of pediatric cancer.
Fifty years ago, St. Jude was founded by the late entertainer Danny Thomas. Its mission is to find cures for children with cancer and other deadly diseases through research and treatment. Funds raised through the Hoops for St. Jude program help St. Jude continue to provide the best care to the world’s sickest children at no cost to their family. It costs $1.8 million a day to operate St. Jude, funded largely by individual contributions.
