Grizzlies recall Wade Baldwin IV from Iowa Energy

Memphis Grizzlies General Manager Chris Wallace today announced the team has recalled guard Wade Baldwin IV from the team’s NBA Development League affiliate, the Iowa Energy.

Baldwin (6-4, 202) appeared in two games (both starts) for the Energy after being assigned on Nov. 20 and averaged 18.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.00 steals in 26.8 minutes. He scored 15 points on 7-of-9 shooting in his D-League debut on Nov. 22 at Westchester and recorded 22 points, eight rebounds and four assists on Nov. 23 at Grand Rapids.

The 20-year-old has appeared in nine games (one start) for the Grizzlies and averaged 3.1 points, 1.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 15.9 minutes since he was drafted by Memphis in the first round (17th overall) of the 2016 NBA Draft. A native of Belle Mead, N.J., Baldwin played two seasons at Vanderbilt University, where he was named Second Team All-Southeastern Conference by the coaches as a sophomore after finishing third in the SEC in assists.
